A chairde, everyone knows that after 3,000 years, you just can’t trump the Irish language, so join us this Saturday, Nov 12th, for our 1-Day Introductory Intensive from 10am – 4pm. This is a class we run only 3 or 4 times per year, and it’s a great opportunity for beginners to get started with the Irish language. We will cover basic conversation and introductions, including hobbies, family life, likes/dislikes, numbers, telling the time and more…AND we are going to extend our Early Bird ‘Election Special’.
Free beer, you say? Well, on Tuesday, November 15th, 300 schools in Ireland will be speaking Irish all-day long, in what is called Gaeilge24. We don’t want to miss out on all that fun here in Washington DC, and it just so happens that acclaimed Irish singer Gavin James is performing downtown that night…so we’ll be there, speaking ‘as Gaeilge’ and enjoying the music! Please come along and join us – beidh fáilte romhat! We promise a free beer for anyone who speaks more than 5 sentences as Gaeilge 🙂 Tickets are still available online from the Rock and Roll Hotel, or as we like to say, An Ostán Rac is Roll!
Evening classes continue as always, with the Ard Rang meeting tonight and on Wednesday the new Intermediate Course is in session with Múinteoir Olga. All courses can be viewed here.
Take note – we have a very special Irish song workshop taking place on Saturday, December 10th. More details to follow soon on our Events page. Big thanks to everyone who attended our recent Irish Refresher, Slang ‘as Gaeilge’, Hallowe’en and Election workshops – bhí sibh ar fheabhas!
