Pop Up Gaeltacht and classes in DC!

Múinteoir Elaine

A chairde, nach raibh samhradh iontach Gaelach againn in Washington DC i mbliana? With our ‘Comhrá each Céadaoin’ classes through July and August, it’s certainly been a super summer of ‘comhrá, craic agus cairdeas’. That is the essence of our mission – to promote and cultivate a vibrant community of Irish speakers, old and new, through conversation, fun & friendship!

Monday evening at 7pm sees the beginning of our 8-week Introductory Irish course. This class will be covering a lot of the basics needed to get up and running with Irish, such as introductions, home life, likes/dislikes, hobbies, numbers, telling the time, feelings, etc. Múinteoir Elaine is delighted to be guiding this group through their first steps ‘as Gaeilge’ and is looking forward to meeting al the new students! There is one spot remaining if anyone out there would like to join the class, and registration includes course binder and learning materials.

For students with a strong command of the basics and more, the Meánrang (Intermediate) course begins on Wednesday, Sept 20th. We have a whole new course planned for the group, incorporating interesting reading topics, areas of grammar and student suggestions. Tá súil againn go mbeidh sibh in ann freastal linn! Students can now avail of a special rate if they sign up for both Meánrang courses from now until the end of the year. You can read more details about each course by going to our Courses page.

If you’re out of practice when it comes to speaking Irish, or on the other hand you’re using your ‘cúpla focal’ at every possible opportunity, then take note – we have another Pop Up Gaeltacht scheduled for Wednesday, September 13th! Beidh muid in Hoban’s in Ciorcal Dupont, 7 – 8:30pm – bí linn! Daoine san Ard Rang, buailigí isteach agus pléfidh muid ranganna nua. All language levels are welcome, so please come along and try out your Irish or join us to learn some basic phrases!
