This Intermediate course utilizes visual media in order to teach about the formal use of Irish in the news, and the usage of informal language in soap operas. Over seven weeks, we will watch, discuss and respond to a wide range of Irish videos. Learners will explore online video resources such as Cúla 4, ‘An Nuacht’ and TG4’s most famous soap opera, ‘Ros na Rún’. We will use videos to help learners gain more confidence and knowledge of the vocabulary and language used in media. Each week learners will apply their new learning through simple exercises. Learners will be invited to present their own episode of ‘An Nuacht’ or a video review in Week 7!
