‘Bígí Ag Caint’ all Summer Long!

Labhair amach í / Speak your Irish!

“Bígí Ag Caint!” is our slogan, and for a very good reason: it means ‘get talking’, and that’s exactly what we will be focusing on all summer long! During July and August Let’s Learn Irish will be running a series of special classes focused solely on Irish conversation. We’re calling the classes ‘Comhrá gach Céadaoin‘ (because, you guessed it, they take place every Wednesday!).

The discounted course rate is our way of saying ‘go raibh maith agat‘ to all students who have attended classes throughout the year, and also to encourage a wide level of participation among students, past and present. We hope that as many students as possible join us in speaking ‘as Gaeilge’ over the 9 weeks of classes. Each week Múinteoir Elaine or Quinton will cover a new and self-contained topic, so don’t worry if you’re out of town some weeks – the course is designed for drop-ins and for students to work at their own level of comfort. ‘Comhrá gach Céadaoin’ promises to be a great way to meet fellow Irish students, develop your conversation skills and also to keep your Irish fresh throughout the summer months! Students can pay for single classes ($25) or sign up for all 9 weeks ($130 for a limited time).

If you’re looking on at envy while students attend ‘Comhrá gach Céadaoin’, do not fear – we are delighted to announce our dates for our next beginner course in Friendship Heights! A new 8-week Introductory Irish course is scheduled to start on Monday, Sept 11th and will run for 8 weeks, until Oct 30th. Early registration is advised. Here we will cover a range of language basics and prepare students for the Intermediate class. By the end of this course, students will be able to introduce themselves and talk about their family life, where they live, occupation, likes/dislikes, hobbies, numbers, tell the time, days of the week, describe how they feel and more! If you’d like to snag the Super Early Bird rate that’s available for the first 3 sign-ups, please click here.
