Schedule Announced for Féile na Gaeilge!

Just under 2 weeks to go until Washington DC’s Irish language festival!

Excitement is building for Féile na Gaeilge 2017 (Apr 8-14th), our upcoming week-long celebration of the Irish language in Washington DC! Ard Rang students will meet on Saturday morning, Apr 8th, for ‘An Club Bricfeasta’ with Justin Foley. Sunday, April 9th, will be a very busy day, with the 1-Day Introductory Intensive starting at 11am, followed by a workshop in Irish songs with Liam Ó Caiside at 5:30pm. If last Christmas’ workshop is anything to go by, this event is definitely not to be missed! Plenty of new songs lined up too…

On Monday we are running a free class focused on Irish verbs at One Dupont with Quinton Beck, while on Tuesday evening William Brennan will be in Friendship Heights to give a presentation on Máirtín Ó Cadhain and Cré na Cille’, based on his 2016 article in The New Yorker. Wednesday is Movie Night ‘as Gaeilge’, and and on Thursday evening we are offering a free Refresher Class for any students who are feeling their Irish needs a freshening up! To showcase all our study and progress, Friday night sees us meet up for a few social drinks at a PopUp Gaeltacht in Dupont Circle!

We are delighted to have a free Irish language event available on every evening of the festival! You can register your attendance for any or all of these events by going to Fé (see below for full festival schedule and details). We hope you can join us for what we believe will be a truly unique celebration of the Irish language in the nation’s capital, and remember, all levels are welcome – tá fáilte roimh go léir!
