Féile na Gaeilge 2017 is here!

A chairde, Féile na Gaeilge 2017 is here! The Irish language festival of free classes and workshops runs Apr 8 – 14th in Friendship Heights and Dupont, Washington DC.

Saturday, April 8th began with Ard Rang students attending ‘An Club Bricfeasta’ for “caint agus comhrá”.

Sunday’s 1-Day Introductory Intensive filled up a few weeks ago, but if you’re interested in another 1-day introductory or an weekly evening course, please contact us and let us know your preference. In the evening we have our eagerly-anticipated workshop in Irish songs at 5:30pm. Registration for all events is essential and available through our website.

On Monday we are running a class focused on Irish verbs with Quinton Beck at One Dupont, our new space for upcoming grammar classes.

On Tuesday evening William Brennan will be in Friendship Heights to give a presentation on Máirtín Ó Cadhain and Cré na Cille’, based on his 2016 article in The New Yorker. We’ll also be raffling away a free English translation of the novel!

Wednesday is Movie Night ‘as Gaeilge’, where we’ll be screening an Irish language animation (with subtitles). Suitable for all ages.

On Thursday evening we are offering a free Refresher Class for anyone out there who feels their Irish needs a freshening up.

Friday night is our PopUp Gaeltacht in Dupont Circle, where Irish speakers can meet up and chat ‘as Gaeilge’ while on the town!
