Free TEG & Comhrá Class this Thursday!

A chairde, conas atá sibh?

Good news – this Thursday at 7:40pm we are running a free class and comhrá meetup at our classroom in Friendship Heights! Múinteoir Elaine will be presenting an overview of the TEG A1, A2 curricula, talking about the exams in June, answering questions and facilitating conversation games among attendees. This is a great opportunity to reconnect with your Irish, meet and practise with fellow Irish language speakers and also learn about upcoming courses and TEG certification. Fáilte roimh chách / All are welcome.

We have 2 new courses coming up in Nov/Dec 2018: the 6-week TEG A1 course begins on Thursday, Nov 1st (Early Bird rate runs until Oct 24th) with the new TEG A2 course starting on Tuesday, Nov 6th. All classes begin at 7pm in Friendship Heights. TEG A1 is suitable for learners who have a basic foundation and an eye towards earning an internationally-recognised certification in Irish. The students who sat the A1 exam in May of this year all did exceptionally well, and they are now focused on sitting the A2 exam in June. Beidh fáilte romhat in aon de na ranganna seo!

Our 6-Week online Introductory Course is ongoing each Saturday afternoon (is grúpa álainn iad!) and we hope to build on this with additional classes very soon. If you’re interested in an online TEG A1 or A2 course in early 2019, please drop us a line and we will add you to our list of interested students…

Have you heard of Bliain na Gaeilge? 2018 marks 125 years since the revival of the Irish language, and we are proud to be a part of the celebrations here in DC. For the last 2 years we have held a very successful Ceardlann Amhránaíochta (Irish Song Workshop) in December. This year we are adding to this event by running a series of workshops, culminating in a public performance at the Irish Embassy in downtown DC in December. Tá tú ag teastáil – we need you to participate! You don’t need to be good at Irish to come along and enjoy these singing events, so check out the details on our website and sign up. Workshops begin in early November!

Finally, a note to say that our 4-week pilot project at Gaeltacht.net. is now underway! Participants are provided with a daily language task as they connect with each other and practise their Irish. If you’d like to join in, registration closes this Friday. Beir bua!
