Gaeltacht.net launched at University Galway

Haló, a chairde! Here’s a brief update on the latest Irish language activities online and in Washington DC…

Gaeltacht.net, the online resource for Irish learners, launched at National University of Ireland, Galway on Monday! The project was profiled on both Raidió na Gaeltachta and TG4 this week, and reaction has been very positive. You too can join this project to set up your community profile, participate in the video chat and post in the forums with fellow learners, wherever you might be located. Our followers can save 25% by using the discount code ‘LetsLearnIrish’. Each week there are Comhrá sessions and a prize for Ball na Seachtaine (Member of the Week)! Download the Gaeltacht.net android app to receive daily notifications to your smartphone. The Gaeltacht.net project will run until Nov 3rd and you can read more about it here.

Comhrá DC, DC’s local conversation group, will be meeting this evening for more chat ‘as Gaeilge’ – see here for more details. Tá fáilte roimh gach duine…

Cór DC, the capital’s Irish language choir, returns for more singing tomorrow, Saturday Oct 12th in Friendship Heights. Click here for group info and updates. Now is a great time to join and all levels of language (and singing ability) are welcome!

Term 2 Irish classes are now posted online – register for upcoming Intro, A1, A2 and B1 courses in Washington DC and online. We also have a Free Introductory Irish class on the first Saturday of every month, and our next one is scheduled for Nov 2nd – bígí linn!
