Saturday: Workshop on Irish Song Tradition

Join us this Saturday, April 2nd, for a workshop on the Irish song tradition! We’ll focus on style (stíl ar an sean-nós), repertoire, and cultural practice. Participants will listen to many examples of singers from various Gaeltacht communities. We will also look at the stylistic elements of the various dialects of ‘sean-nós’ singing, and explore two songs of contrasting tempo and content. Register here for what promises to be a unique, engaging and revelatory workshop in song.
