Carols and a ‘Cóisir’ for the DC Community!

Friends, here are 3 very exciting items to note this week…

On Thursday Cór DC (Washington’s Irish language choir) will be performing publicly for the first time at a reception at the Irish Embassy! This will be one of the many official Bliain na Gaeilge events to take place worldwide in 2018, marking the revival of the language over the last 125 years. Well done to all the students who have been attending our workshops and practising Irish Christmas carols over the past weeks – feicfidh muid sibh Déardaoin, 6:30pm!

If you miss Cór DC on Thursday evening, do not fret – the choir will be performing again on Saturday! We want to see the whole Irish language community join us 4pm – 6pm for our annual Cóisir na Nollag (End of Year Party)! The language beginner, advanced student or the curious observer are all welcome – bígí linn!

New Irish courses are now posted for 2019, so if you want to start learning Irish, obtain a TEG certification or join a community of Irish learners (or all of the above), be sure to sign up soon! Perhaps give the ‘gift of Gaeilge’ to a friend this year? Also, in 2019 we are delighted to be providing both TEG A1 and A2 online courses on Saturdays for students unable to make evening classes in DC. And what is TEG is the internationally-recognised Irish language certification for adult learners. We are lucky to be providing an official TEG exam centre in Washington DC for students wishing to sit the full A1 and A2 exams in 2019, so…bígí ag cleachtadh!
