Fáilte go dtí Oíche Shamhna!

A chairde, tá Samhain linn! It’s the Gaelic festival marking the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter and the “darker half” of the year…and it’s spooktacular! Samhain is traditionally celebrated tonight until sunset tomorrow, November 1st. Of course, this is the time of year when the veil between our world and the spirit realm is thinnest, so it’s the perfect time of year to make contact with the dead…bí Oíche Shamhna deas agaibh!

Maith sibh / Well done to the many students who recently completed their Sept/Oct courses, and especially to the new cohort of students currently finishing the 8-week Introductory course! For anyone thinking of joining us for Irish classes in the “darker half” of the year, you will be glad to hear that we are running Meánrang (Intermediate) and Ard Rang (Advanced) classes from now until Christmas. We’ve also extended our Early Bird rates until tomorrow night to accommodate anyone who’s returning from the spirit world and gets delayed en route…

If you’re transitioning from the Introductory course (or feeling the cobwebs around your Irish skills) then next Thursday’s Meánrang with Múinteoir Elaine is probably a good choice for you! Classes place a strong emphasis on developing conversation and confidence in Irish, and the upcoming course includes such diverse topics as The Beatles, Describing People, The Verbal Noun, Greetings in Irish, The Weather, Conversation Phrases, Seanfhocail and more! More details and registration here.

We are also thrilled to be offering a new Ard Rang course with Múinteoir Quinton from next week! This class is designed for experienced Meánrang students who wish to pursue a recognised certification in Irish. The Teastas Eorpach na Gaeilge (TEG) qualification is based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.  Over the upcoming terms we will be preparing students for the official A2 TEG exam that will take place in Spring 2018, and each week the class will be covering a topic from the A2 curriculum. If you would like to attend classes, please register here.

If you have a query about any of our classes, don’t let it haunt you – simply Contact Us. We’ve also posted a handy levels guide on our website that will hopefully give you an overview of the ways we can help you on your language journey…agus sin é, a chairde Gael! Feicfidh muid tú roimh i bhfad, agus bí slán sábháilte anocht ar an oíche is spraoiúla sa bhliain!!
