TEG EXAMS IN WASHINGTON DC IN 2025

This year, Lárionad na Gaeilge at Maynooth University will be offering full-credit TEG Irish exams in Washington DC on Sat, June 28th (A1) and Sun, June 29th (A2). These will be the first TEG exams in the US since 2019. We have been using the TEG curriculum for Irish courses since 2013, and the exams have proven to be an excellent learning target for students of all levels. What is TEG?
Teastas Eorpach na Gaeilge (TEG) is the first and only system of certification for adult learners of Irish. TEG certification is administered by the Centre for Irish Language at Maynooth University and recognised by the Department of Education and Skills and internationally. The various levels of TEG, beginning at A1, are based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (Council of Europe, 2001). This system helps learners to plan their study and to get recognition for the progress they have made.

Exam Registration
Registration for exams in Washington DC is available from Feb 10th until April 30th. The cost of registration for full-credit exams is €120, paid via the TEG website.
