“My Name Is…” in Irish
Have you ever wondered how to say “My name is…” in Irish? It’s certainly one of the first things you will say when meeting someone new, so why not bust out some Irish while doing so?! See this video to learn how to introduce yourself…
How to say "My Name Is" in Irish
When introducing yourself in Irish, you will want to tell someone what your name is. In order to that, we must first say our name, followed by “is ainm dom”. Therefore, to say “My name is Jamie”, we say “Jamie is ainm dom”. You may also hear or see the phrase “an t-ainm atá orm” instead of “is ainm dom”. This is another way to say your name, i.e. “Jamie an t-ainm atá orm”. To ask someone what their name is, you say “Cad is ainm duit?”.
