Learn Irish in September – beidh fáilte romhat!
A chara, fáilte chuig téarma eile – welcome to another year of Irish classes! In fact, this is now our 16th year of Irish courses since beginning in Washington DC, and our 7th year of online classes! It’s exciting to begin another academic year, and to witness our Irish community growing. I hope you can join us in September for our daily classes, weekly comhrá (conversation) sessions or monthly language workshops. Beidh fáilte romhat – you will be very welcome!
Our new term begins on Wednesday, September 4th! So, what’s in store? If you’re starting off, our A0 Introductory courses run on both Sundays (3pm ET) and Tuesdays (6:30pm ET). Once you have established a basic foundation in Irish, our A1 course is a good choice, with classes available on both Wednesdays (Topic 1) and Saturdays (Topic 10). For A1+ learners, we also have a new course, Éist & Tuig, focusing on listening skills and news reports. A new Gramadach course, concentrating on a selection of verb tenses, will run on Tuesdays at 8pm ET.
Our A2 Elementary course takes place on Thursdays, starting from Topic 1, followed by weekly Comhrá at 8pm ET. On Mondays, we’re offering our B1 Intermediate course at 6:30pm ET, followed by B2 Upper Intermediate at 8pm ET. Of course, if you cannot attend our live courses, you can still watch the recordings (enter discount coupon ‘VideoOnly‘ when registering). If you’re unsure about which course to take, please get in touch, come to our Free Workshop on Sunday or see our Levels page for more details. See also our FAQ page for more advice and info!
Are you interested in sitting a full-credit TEG examination in Washington DC in 2025? If so, let us know! We are compiling a list of interested students, and we hope to facilitate A1 and A2 exams next year. See here for more details.
