lets-learn-Irish-brianFáilte mhór roimh ár múinteoir Gaeilge nua, Brian Ó hAirt! We are delighted to welcome the multi-talented Brian Ó hAirt to the Let’s Learn Irish team! Brian will be teaching our 7-week Introductory Irish course starting this evening at 6:30pm in Friendship Heights. Fortunately for anyone located outside the DC area, he will also be teaching the 7-week Online Introductory course each Sunday at 2pm EST! Brian is a widely-known sean-nós singer, dancer, musician and teacher with organizations such as Language Hunters and the Irish Center of Kansas City; you can read more about Brian and drop him a welcome message (as Gaeilge nó i mBéarla) via his profile page! In addition to welcoming Brian, this week also marks the beginning of our first term in 2020. B1 online classes began on Monday evening, Jan 6th, and new courses for all language levels continue throughout the week…

Introductory Irish, DC and Online
Over 7 weeks, Brian will be helping both online and Washington DC students get started on their Irish language journey. Lessons will cover pronunciation, introductions and general conversation, as well as topics such as hobbies, questions, numbers, days of the week, emotions and more. An mbeidh tú linn – will you join us? Students who complete the Introductory course may decide to attend additional online Introductory courses, or to progress to TEG A1 classes and work towards their first language certification.

Level A1 (Beginner), Online
Take this course to move beyond the Introductory language level and get comfortable speaking, reading, writing and listening ‘as Gaeilge’! For this upcoming 7-week course each Saturday, we will be covering the following topics: Talents and skills, Work, Food and drink.

Level A2 (Elementary), DC and Online
Do you have a solid foundation in Irish but not sure where to go next? Would you like to build upon your Irish skills and perhaps work towards a TEG A2 official certification? If so, then this 7-week course is for you! This term we will be covering the following topics: Food and drink, Health and illness, Describing people. Register here.

Who was Liam Ó Flaithearta?
