Caitríona Weafer, Múinteoir Gaeilge

Caitríona Weafer was born and raised in Ireland. She qualified as a primary school teacher in Ireland (B. Ed. H.Dip) and as a dance teacher (TMRF). She also has a masters in Spanish, and has taught Spanish and Japanese in high schools and colleges. Caitríona founded a branch of CnaG in Los Angeles – in fact, she has a habit of creating her own Gaeltacht, wherever in the world she is! Caitríona loves teaching Irish, and has overseen multiple A0 Introductory, A1 Beginner and Grammar courses with Let’s Learn Irish! She is excited to be launching a new course this term, ‘Gaeilge sa Bhaile‘, designed especially for adults and parents interested in learning rhymes, songs and fun games through Irish!

Just as the Olympics are based on a Greek sporting contest that took place in the 8th century BC, so did Ireland revive an ancient tradition upon becoming a free state in the 1920s.
